BEWARE OF THIEVES, PICKPOCKETS, CON MEN & STARLINGS!!

Bill owns a company that manufactures and installs car wash systems.  Magic Wand Car Wash Systems just in case you want to buy one.  Bill's company installed a car wash system in Frederick, Md. for a gentleman.

Understand that these are complete systems including the money changer and money taking machines.

The problem started when the new owner complained to Bill that he was losing significant amounts of money from his coin machines each week. He went as far as to accuse Bill's employees of having a key to the boxes and ripping him off. Bill just couldn't believe that his people would do that. So they set up a (photo) trap for the thief.

Well, they caught the thief in the act! Scroll down to see who it was.

This is the coin slot
(with a bird's tail sticking out):

The bird had to go down in the machine
& back up to get to the money:

That's three quarters he has in his mouth!!

Another amazing thing Bill said is that it was not one bird; there were several working together.  Once they identified the thief, they found over $4,000.00 in quarters on the roof of the car wash and more under a nearby tree.  Either it was because starlings & many other birds love shiny things or they were saving up for their own car!!

We loved Thailand; it was fascinating!!  There were Buddhist monks with their shaved heads & beautiful robes, elephant markets & the exquisite palace of the King of Siam. Our first few moments there, however, were not so great.  There were many signs in the airport warning travelers to watch out for pickpockets & con men.  Later, at the hotel, we got a call from a man who identified himself as our driver & told us our car was ready.  That would have been fine, except we hadn’t as yet ordered a car!!

Carole sent me this video.
It fits here perfectly!!

  1. We share our house with a skilled thief. Jewel is very partial to my earrings. She absconds with them and secretes them on the top shelf of the wardrobe. I hope that is her only hiding place - I haven't found any others.

  2. Love your final sentence, I had that on a coffee mug once.
Funny thing about thieves, you can't tell who they are just by looking at them.
You just can't trust anyone. Except my cat maybe. Unlike EC's Jewel, he has never stolen anything, except my heart.
