I'LL (PROBABLY) LOVE YOU FOREVER--WILL YOU MARRY ME?

Not to disparage the sanctity of the fine institution of marriage (I know; who wants to live in an institution?) but there are some couples who should never tie the knot.  For example:
 .

Glynn Wolfe, also known as Scotty Wolfe (July 25, 1908 – June 10, 1997), was a Baptist minister who resided in Blythe, California. He was famous for holding the record for the largest number of monogamous marriages (29). His shortest marriage lasted 19 days, and his longest lasted eleven years.

(I apologize, but starting here, my computer insists on choosing its own font sizes as well as upper or lowercase.)

Linda Wolfe, 68, who first wed at 16, is now a grandmother with 23 ex-husbands, which sets the world record for the most married woman.  She has said that she is "addicted to the romance" of getting married. The best lover was Jack Gourley, who liked skinny dipping and impromptu trysts. She wed him three times. She has had seven children by her different husbands and been a stepmother to many more. Her last marriage, a decade ago, was a publicity stunt. It was to Glynn Wolfe, who in taking Linda as his bride meant he was the world's most married man, at 29 times. He died a year later aged 88. She has been single now for 12 years, her longest stint unmarried since childhood: "But I would get married again," she said, "because, you know, it gets lonely."   She said, "It's been years since I walked down the aisle. I miss it."

Zsa Zsa Gabor – Nine marriages, 7 divorces and 1 marriage annulment. That is Zsa Zsa’s marriage record. Zsa Zsa first married Burhan Asaf Belge in 1937, a marriage that ended in divorce in 1941. She did not wait for long to enter into another marriage, this time to Conrad Hilton in 1942, only to divorce in 1947. After a ‘break’ of two years, she married George Sanders in 1949. It seemed she did not have what she wanted and so she divorced in 1954 only to marry Herbert Hutner in 1962, a marriage that ended in 1966 through another divorce. Zsa Zsa was not done with marriage yet, she went on to marry Joshua Cosden exactly five days after divorcing Hutner. She divorced Cosden in 1967 to marry Jack Ryan in 1975, a marriage that ended in 1976 through divorce. Only three days after divorcing Ryan, she married Michael O’Hara only to divorce in 1983. 1983 saw her marry Felipe de Alba for only a day because their marriage was annulled. She finally settled for Frederic Prinz von Anhalt in 1986.  Zsa Zsa was a great housekeeper.  She said that every time she got a divorce, she kept the house!!

Elizabeth Taylor – Eight marriages (two to one person). That is Liz’s marriage record. Liz started by marrying Nicky Hilton in 1950 but only for a year as the marriage ended in 1951. She later married Michael Wilding in 1952, a marriage that ended in 1957 through divorce. Michael Todd came her way in 1957, but only for a year, they divorced in 1958. she married Richard Burton in 1964 and they stayed for a record 10 years before they divorced in 1974. After a brief moment (sixteen months), they re-married in 1975 only to re-divorce in 1976. She married John Warner in the same year to divorce in 1982. To top off her marriages, Liz married Larry Fortensky in 1991, with the marriage ending in 1996. Apart from her marriages, Liz had countless affairs while married.  Liz was in Bud's high school graduation class.  He says she was the most beautiful woman he has ever seen!!

  11. I don't understand people who can't figure out that marriage doesn't work for them. I'll never remarry. I don't believe in love, other than what I feel for my children, the dogs, and certain bloggers--including you.

    Love,
    Janie

  12. Non-famous River; two marriages, two divorces, never again.
I don't understand those people who skip from marriage to marriage without spending time with themselves to see if they might be happier on their own. Perhaps they are afraid to be alone? Afraid of their own company?
