I'M SORRY, DID YOU MEAN TO GO TO HEAVEN?

This riddle doesn't seem like it should be hard, but it's much trickier than it appears. The Heaven and Hell problem was famously included in the movie "Labyrinth," in which Jennifer Connelly's character gives the correct answer (er, the correct question). There are multiple ways to phrase the question, but it will lead you to the right door 100 percent of the time. Scroll down to read the puzzle, and keep scrolling for the answer.
Here's the Puzzle
You're standing between the door to heaven and the door to hell. A guard stands by each door. One guard always tells the truth, and the other always lies. You don't know which guard is which. What one question can you ask a guard to find out which door leads to heaven? Keep scrolling to read the answer.

I'm pointing at the answer, not the door!!

As I mentioned, there are multiple ways to phrase the correct question that will give you the answer you want. You would ask this question: Which door would the lying guard say goes to heaven? If you asked the honest guard, that guard will point toward the door to hell. If you asked the lying guard, that guard will point toward the door to hell. Either way, you will be directed to the door to hell, so you know the one that the guard does not point to is the door to heaven. Did you get it?

1. This was a hell of a joke:)
Happy March Fran.

1. Heavens, do you really think so?

2. Yikes, hope I can remember that when the time comes.

1. Hopefully that won't be for a long time yet!!

3. OMG! Loved the cartoons!!
I had to think about it for a minute--but then I remembered how it went. They would both have to point the same direction, of course. Maybe my brain cells are still working better than I think--ROFL!

1. Don't worry, you still have functioning brain cells!!

4. Let's see, Hellguard would point to Heavendoor if asked about Hell. Heavenguard would point the same way. And vice versa. What am I missing? I mean, it might be important someday.

1. You're not missing anything, my friend!!

5. I understood it when Jennifer Connelly worked it out in the movie, but without that it's one of those logic questions that befuddle me. (and make me feel dumb)

1. I don't do well with logic puzzles, either!!

6. Heh, heh! I like the stairway/highway explanation.

1. No one likes to be stuck in traffic!!

7. OH shit, I'm going to Hell!

1. Guessing still gives you a 50/50 chance--OR you could get Mrs. C to answer!!

8. There's no way i will quite get the logic, so i'll just memorize the question and how to use the answer!

1. Sounds like a plan!!
